Damien Rice

Born in 1973, Damien Rice is an Irish singer/songwriter and former member of Bell X1. Up until 2006's sophomore album 9, he was quite well-known for only releasing one full album, 2002's O. The album was highly praised among both critics and fans, and subsequently Rice remained prominent while he recorded his follow-up. Throughout 2004 and 2005, many Rice songs, among them the hit single "The Blower's Daughter" were featured prominently in television shows and films, including the 2004 Mike Nichols film Closer, and American TV shows The OC and House MD, catapulting Rice into the mainstream.
