An art punk group from San Francisco, Deerhoof is the brain child of bassist Rob Fisk and drummer Greg Saunier. The two formedthe band in 1994, and were later joined by Japanese lead singer Satomi Matsuzaki. Fisk left after the band's first LP "The Man,The King, The Girl" and was replaced by John Dieterich from Gorge Trio. Since then, the band has produced numerous LPs, eachwith a distinct experimental sound. They're use of harsh, noise-driven tracks supplemented by catchy melodies has won themsome acclaim, and they have toured in the past with bands such as Wilco, The Roots, The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, andRadiohead.
