Tracii Guns was briefly a touring guitarist for Faster Pussycat. Taime Downe (ex-Bondage Boys) was and is Faster Pussycat's lead singer.
Taime's other claim to fame was as co-owner (with Riki Rachtman, who guested on the first Faster Pussycat album and was later host of
MTV's Headbanger's Ball) of The Cathouse, a popular heavy-metal themed night club in Los Angeles. Faster Pussycat's lead guitarist is
Brent Muscat, brother of Todd Muscat (who was bass player in a number of influential Los Angeles based bands including Decry, Kill For
Thrills, and Junkyard). Brent Muscat has also played as a touring guitarist for L.A. Guns, and appears on the two bonus live tracks on L.A.
Guns' Rips the Covers Off. Guitarist Greg Steele was formerly co-guitarist with Brent Muscat. Eric Stacy and Mark Michals were Faster
Pussycat's past bassist and drummer, respectively. Mark Michals was fired after their first album due to drug-related legal trouble.
Drummer Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P.) briefly played with Faster Pussycat as a touring drummer, before the band hired drummer
Brett Bradshaw (later a member of Blackboard Jungle). Faster Pussycat now features guitarist Xristian Simon (ex-Newlydeads), bassist
Danny Nordahl (ex-The Throbs, ex-Newlydeads), and drummer Chad Stewart (ex-Newlydeads).
Faster Pussycat dissolved in 1994 and reformed in 2002. They are currently touring and there has been a word that there will be a new
album in 2006. « hide |
