Pre-School were a Japanese indie pop band that originally formed in 1994. They were known for their signature sound, which
blends influences from pop punk, electropop, alternative rock and indie. The group also had some minor mainstream success,
with their untitled 1999 album (sometimes referred to as "2nd Album", despite it being their third full length) reaching number 14
on the Oricon charts, and staying in the charts for four weeks. However, the group ended up splitting by 2004. Today, Pre-
School are often referred to as one of the most influential, and well known, indie bands to break the Japanese mainstream.
