iamthemorning is a neo-classical vocal indie band from St.Petersburg, Russia with a sound unique to the Russian music scene. The core of the band and the only constant members are classical pianist Gleb Kolyadin and vocalist Marjana Syomkina. All instrumentalists that take part in the band activities have higher classical education, and the vocalist is self-taught. iamthemorning combine non-typical, but easily perceived vocal parts of progressive rock with a distinctly classical musical approach when it comes to the arrangements, creating music that falls between the orchestrated meditations of Phillipp Glass and the abstract poetics of Maynard James Keenan. In 2016 iamthemorning won 'Album of the Year' at the Progressive Music Awards for their third LP, "Lighthouse".
