Collective Soul is a rock band that hail from Georgia and started to become popular in the post-grunge movement. They formed in the early
90s in the small town of Stockbridge, Georgia. Fronted by Ed Roland, a Berkley College of Music in Boston grad, who pieced together two
exisiting Atlanta Rock groups to form Collective Soul (one of which being The Marching Two-Step).
Their first LP "Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid" has ridden on the anthemic reign of the single "Shine." Their self-titled sophomore

exisiting Atlanta Rock groups to form Collective Soul (one of which being The Marching Two-Step).
Their first LP "Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid" has ridden on the anthemic reign of the single "Shine." Their self-titled sophomore
LP resulted in several succesful singles such as "The World I Know," "December," "Where The River Flows," and "Gel," which was the staple
song for the "Jerky Boys" soundtrack in 1995. Following a legal suit against the band by their own management, they were legally barred
from recording in any professional studio, so they recorded all or most of Disciplined Breakdown (third album) in a cabin in the woods. The
song "Precious Declaration" was the hit single and told the story of the band's victory in the lawsuit.
They consistently released albums throughout the 90's until they went on hiatus after their 2000 album "Blender". During this time the band
lost lead guitarist Ross Childress and drummer Shane Evans. Since then they have regrouped in 2004 with new lead guitarist Joel Kosche and
drummer Ryan Hoyle, released the album "Youth" featuring the hit single "Counting The Days." They continue to tour succesfully, have
opened their own independent label "El Music," and have released a couple more lightly received albums.
