Earth Crisis was a straight edge, vegan metalcore band from Syracuse, New York that recorded and performed from 1992 until 2001. Earth Crisis is famous for supporting animal rights (Animal Liberation Front) and promoting a healthy life-style including a strict vegan diet and abstinence from alcohol and other stimulant substances. Their lyrics are full of militant statements against animal abuse or prejudice based on political issues. Sad and depressing conclusions are drawn from observations on modern society. The band's message was to show an alternative way of life for a younger generation. The title song from their second mini-album entitled "Firestorm" became an anthem for the people believing in the power of a vegan/straight edge ideology.
