Susan Boyle, 48, from Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, was a contestant on the 3rd series of Britain’s Got Talent. She surprised the judges with a strong performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables in the competition’s first round, aired on 11th April 2009.
In the first semi-final of the series, aired on 24th May 2009, she performed “Memory” from Cats, and was put through to the final by the public vote.

It is reported that videos of her performances, interviews, appearances etc. had received more than 200 million views on the Internet, as of the date of the final.
