Seam began as a three-piece in Chapel Hill,NorthCarolina. Although Seam’s “pedigree” includedBitchMagnet and Superchunk,Seam’sreticentmelodicism andsubtly moving guitar washes occupy arealm quitedifferent than the illustrious pasts of Seam’smembersmightsuggest.Seam released their first singleDays ofThunder on Homestead Records in October of1990, andtheir second single Granny 9X onMergeRecords inearly’92. The band released their first full-length, Headsparks,on Homestead in 1992. After a moveto Chicago, Seamalsomoved to Touch and Go fortherelease of an EP andthree full-length albums, the lastbeing The Pace IsGlacial in 1998.
