Christopher Francis Ocean (born Christopher Breaux; October 29, 1987), better known by his stage name Frank Ocean, is an American singer/songwriterfrom New Orleans, Louisiana. He began his musical career as a ghostwriter for musicians such as Beyonce and Justin Bieber.After moving to Los Angeles, he became a member of the now defunct OFWGKTA and after self releasing his debut mixtape Nostalgia Ultra to criticalacclaim, he became involved in numerous Kanye West and Jay-Z projects such as Yeezus and Watch the Throne. Ocean releasedhis debut studio albumChannelOrange to rave reviews from publications such as Pitchfork and RollingStone, as well as earning a grammy at the 2012 Grammy Awards for "BestUrban Contemporary Album".
