Blaque

Blaque was an R&B group from Atlanta. First formed in 1995 by vocalist Natina Reed when she was still in high school, she soon after recruited Shamari Fears and Brandi Williams, and the trio was then discovered by TLC member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who became a close mentor to Blaque. In June of 1999, Blaque released their first album, which was self-titled, to great success, and it soon became certified platinum in the US. In June of 1999, Blaque released their first album, which was self-titled, to great success, and it soon became certified platinum in the US. Blaque released their second album in 2002, “Blaque Out”, which was never physically released anywhere except Japan. The group were in the works of a third album which was scheduled for release in 2004, “Torch”, although it was never officially released, and Blaque ended up disbanding by 2007, after over a decade of activity. In 2012, Blaque temporarily reunited, however in August of 2012, Reed was killed at the age of 31 from a car accident, thus putting an official end to Blaque. « hide
