Chris de Burgh

Chris de Burgh is the art name of British-Irish singer-songwriter Christopher John Davison who was born on 15 October 1948 in Venado Tuerto, Argentina. The artist signed his first contract with A&M Records in 1974 and supported Supertramp on their 'Crime of the Century' tour where he built a small fan base. His 1970s albums failed to chart in either the UK or US while they racked up big sales in continental Europe and South America. His first UK chart entry came in 1981 with Best Moves, a collection of songs from his earlier albums. His worldwide success came in 1986 with the hit single 'The Lady in Red' included in the album Into the Light. Throughout his career, Chris de Burgh has recorded 23 studio albums, 9 compilation albums, 4 live albums, and 66 singles.
