The trio of producers known as Crustation formed by Ian Dark, Stig Manley and Mark Taylerthe are quite connected in the fertile Bristol trip-hop community - they played in bands with Portishead’s Adrian Utley during the 1980s, and regularly hung out with Massive Attack and Smith & Mighty. Formed in 1993, they debuted in 1995 with two EPs for Cup of Tea Records, and later released their debut album, “Bloom”, in 1997. The album proved to be an underground smash, although despite its success, Crustation ended up ceasing activities by 2000.
