Donald Fagen was one of the core members of Steely Dan, along with Walter Becker. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he
provided vocals for most of Steely Dan's songs, as well as piano and synthesizer parts. After Steely Dan effectively broke up in
1981, he began his solo career with 1982's The Nightfly, which reached Platinum in the US and the UK, and was nominated
for several Grammy awards.
He has released 4 solo albums in all. His solo music consists of a similar style to Steely Dan's jazz and funk infused rock, though
he usually sticks to a more pop-oriented sound and more experimental compositions.
