East End was a legendary Japanese hip hop trio that formed in 1990. They were known for their poppy sound, which was later
amplified to its max when East End collaborated with JPop idol Yuri Ichii to form East End X Yuri. While in East End X Yuri, the
members of East End reached their all-time commercial high, more specifically with their 1994 single "Da.Yo.Ne", which was the
first hip hop single in Japan to sell over a million copies. When East End X Yuri ended up folding in 1996, East End ended up
going on a downward spiral in terms of popularity, and eventually ended up disbanding in 1998. In 2002, however, East End
reunited, and would go on to release a few more singles and two more albums until splitting once more in 2012.
