Hole was an alternative rock band formed in 1989, fronted by Courtney Love, co-founded by Eric Erlandson, and featuring Patty Schemel on drums. Melissa Auf der Maur was the bassist from 1995 until the band's disbandment in 2002; previous bassist Kristen Pfaff died from an apparent drug overdose in 1994.While their career was overshadowed by Love's relationship with Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, and his subsequent suicide, they received much acclaim among rock critics for both 1994's Live Through This and 1998's Celebrity Skin, the latter of which was a turn into Stevie Nicks-esque Wes ...read more
