Konta is a Japanese pop rock artist. He got his major start as the frontman of the popular rock group, Barbee Boys, before the
group split in 1992. After Barbee Boys's split, Konta embarked on a solo career, which was quite successful commercially. His
1996 album, "Jane Doe", is his highest ranking solo album to date, reaching number 6 on the Oricon charts, and staying in the
charts for an impressive total of 48 weeks. He has not made an album since 1998's "Guy", and he has not released a single since
2003's "Cynical Babe".
