Numph

Numph is an alternative rock band from Carrara, IT that blends american alternative metal with british progressive and psychedelic rock. They formed in late 2010 and released the EP "Four Zoas" in spring 2011. Their first full lenght, Theories of Light, has been mixed by Matt Bayes (Mastodon, Isis, Pearl Jam) and mastered by Ed Brooks (Pearl Jam, Isis) and it's a sort of concept album about self consciousness and art, very deep and well-finished. The band sounds like a softer version of Tool, with post and psychedelic influences (something between Pink Floyd and Isis) and a certain post- grunge attitude (Soundgarden and Alice in Chains comes to mind). Lyrics are often about instrospection, art and philosophy.
