Prestige (NW)

Prestige is a heavy metalcore band from the Pacific Northwest. Located near Tacoma, WA, Prestige has thrived in the hardcore and metal scenes throughout the west coast. Blending their heavy and fast breakdowns, with hard-hitting two steps and circle pits, the band is known for having the perfect blend of metal and hardcore elements. The band has been compared to Bury Your Dead, Legend, and The Acacia Strain. Prestige was formed by Justin Phasavath (vocals) and Robleh Saireh (Guitar) as a joke! Both members wrote the song, “Severed Ties” in December 2010 and showed their previous band who was not interested in the song at all. Justin and Rob had high hopes for the song and took the song to a local producer where they recorded two demo songs (Severed Ties & (Dis)Honorable Mention). Both songs were posted on YouTube.com under the name “Prestige”. Rob then showed Kenny Curran (Bassist) the newly recorded songs and he suggested making this band a real thing. In March 2011, Justin, Rob and Kenny entered the studio and wrote and recorded the “Reality” EP. After the EP was recorded, they found Damien Ward to play drums. This completed the four piece line up. The band agreed to stay a four-piece and use a live fill-in for their upcoming shows. The band debuted at Studio Seven in Seattle, Washington where they opened up for Legend, Lionheart, MONSTERS, The Great Commission and The Greenery on The Road to Metalfest Tour in late March 2011. Shortly after their E.P release show in April 2011, the band decided to start looking for the fifth member. After cycling through a few guitarists, they invited long time friend, Jacob Hansen, to play guitar in November 2011. Once Jacob joined, the band entered Joe’s Studio in Roy, WA with local producer Jared Dines, and rerecorded the “Reality” E.P. as a free download for Christmas 2011. Prestige has had a very successful first year. They have been on three successful west coast tours (October 2011, January 2012 and April 2012) which have included playing dates in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California. The band has also had the honor to play with many signed acts in their hometown such as The Acacia Strain, I Set My Friends on Fire, Arsonists Get All the Girls, MyChildren MyBride, Impending Doom, Terror, Veil of Maya, I Declare War, and more. Along with recording at Joe’s Studio, the band has recorded at Throat Punch Studios in Des Moines, WA with Joel “Casey” Jones(ex-Blessed By A Broken Heart), The Red Room in Tacoma, WA with Ahren Lanfor, and most recently, One Light Media in Las Vegas, NV with Kelly “Carnage” Cairns. Prestige has major plans in the future. The guys are starting to move away from the “DIY” mindset and looking toward legitimate general and booking management and to sign to a respectable label in the near future. Prestige plans on touring full time by the end of the 2012 summer. Their next album, "Restrain From It All", is scheduled to be released in July 2012 on their next summer tour(July 14th-28th). The band hopes to head toward the mid-west to tour in August/September 2012. « hide
