Nothing shy of the hardest working band north of Sacramento, Red With Envy expresses the united soul of four modern day metal Mozarts. An unbridled stage persona has become the defining characteristic of RWE, coupled with catchy tunes and a relentless work ethic, RWE has exposed a refreshing angle to hard-rock. With personality coming from every aspect of their creations, these seasoned musicians are a highly motivated freight train of talent. Drummer, Nick Harris, creates a heavily aggressive beat that lifts the crowd into a disgruntled mix of feeling; even before the first words are spoken. It was the Beastie Boys with Bad Brains concert that turned Nick on to a career-oriented goal of performing in a band. With heavy influences from bands like the Deftones, Weezer, and Lagwagon, Nick is able to create a feel to his beat that is unmatched by anyone sharing the genre. With roots in Redding, California, he has kept his talent fairly local, perfecting his sound and brewing a rock that will one day shatter the glass eye of conservative America. On bass guitar, Randy rumbles the stage along with the internal bear of the audience into a melting pot of vibes. Millville, CA is the original home the bass player. With influences that include Sevendust, Tool, and Led Zeppelin, he knows exactly what type of flavor to add to every riff and passage in order to get the desired response from the audience. Being the last to join Red With Envy, he was the missing string on a now flawless fret board. Playing bass for eight years and constantly searching for knowledge, Randy will never be content with his skills; this promised to be one of his most colorful attributes for a future in professional entertainment. “Don’t talk like Robin Hood unless you can shoot a bow and arrow like him.” These are the words of Chavez, the vocal talent that stands as the front man for Red With Envy. His wildly individual personality is magnetic, as represented through the crowd’s response. Though he has a voice all his own, his stylistic goals are that of The Deftones, Tool, and The Used. Representing the voice of the band is always a difficult task; however, he takes on the mission with open arms and a smile on his face.Austin comes in with a slightly different musical approach and taste, adding a mixture of creative influences ranging from Sublime to Tool, and even Bob Marley. Eight years of experience is always a plus in establishing creative and musical intuition. Playing in bands like Flipside and Monkey Box, his onstage performance makes for a must see to believe show. His repertoire is overloaded with styles and personality making his sound so incredibly unique, there is only one place on earth to hear this mixture of tone, creativity, and inspiration: Red With Envy. « hide |
