Richard Stephen Sambora was born in Perth Amboy, NJ in the United States on July 11, 1959. He is a guitarist and a songwriter who became well-known through his work with the band Bon Jovi, in which he still plays the lead guitar. His most important influences were Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johny Winter, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry and Eric Clapton who played the lead guitar part of the song ''Mr. Bluesman'' on his first solo album Stranger In This Town in 1991.
