Soichi Taniguchi

Soichi Taniguchi was a popular Japanese rock artist. Getting his first big break as the frontman for pop punk band Baku, he wenton a solo career when the group split in 1992. Unlike Baku's punky style, Soichi's solo material was a lot more pop-influenced. Although he had a popular solo career, Soichi ended up forming the underground alternative band The Trip White Hornet in 1997, and thus fell out of the Japanese public eye until the group split in 2002. Afterwards, Taniguchi formed the band Shuriken, which harkened back to his early pop punk days in Baku, and the band also served as his mainstream comeback when the group signed to Universal Music in late 2002.
