The Jesus and Mary Chain are an alternative rock band formed in Scotland in 1984, at the forefront of the noise-rock scene until theirdisbanding in 1999. They were a seminal influence to countless post-punk, indie rock, noise and shoegaze bands that formed in their wake.Their most successful album is without a doubt their debut from 1985, Psychocandy.
