The Roosters were a legendary Japanese rock band that formed in 1978. Although not extremely commercially successful duringtheir time together,
The Roosters would go on to reach tremendous critical acclaim, due to their cutting edge mixture of rock 'n'roll, garage rock, gothic rock, new wave,
punk and folk. The group initially split in 1988, with frontman Shinya Oe going on tohave a mildly successful solo career. However, The Roosters
reunited temporarily in 2004, before splitting once more in 2005.
