Thunderbugs was a girl band from England that first formed in 1997. Unlike the majority of other pop girl bands at the time, Thunderbugs was unique in the fact that the members not only sung and danced, but also played their own instruments. In August of 1999, the group released their first single “Friends Forever”, which proved to be a strong success, as it reached number 5 on the UK charts.

In August of 1999, the group released their first single “Friends Forever”, which proved to be a strong success, as it reached number 5 on the UK charts.
Thunderbugs then soon afterwards released their second single “It’s About Time You Were Mine”, which fared far less well than “Friends Forever”, as it only reached number 43. This made the release of their first album, “Delicious”, which was set to be released in December of 1999, get pushed back to July of 2000, and it was only released on minidisc format in the UK. The album was essentially dead-on-arrival in terms of sales, and Thunderbugs already seemed to have dissolved by the time the album was finally released. « hide |
