Tyler 09-27-2007 11:10 PM

i am the robots 09-27-2007 11:18 PM

Well you fail, Satyricon is medieval metal.

Nostalgia 09-27-2007 11:19 PM

Angmar 09-27-2007 11:22 PM

i am the robots 09-27-2007 11:23 PM

Don't taze me bro.

Tyler 09-27-2007 11:23 PM
I still enjoy Dark Medieval Times every now and then. :upset:
Me too. That doesn't make it "medieval".

Angmar 09-27-2007 11:24 PM

Never said it was, "medieval" isn't even a real genre...

i am the robots 09-27-2007 11:24 PM

It's a good album, agreed.

Nostalgia 09-27-2007 11:24 PM

lmao tyler, chill with the medieval ****

Dash 09-28-2007 01:21 AM
Me too. That doesn't make it "medieval".
However, possibly the most well-known example of medieval rock is the Norwegian band Satyricon's "Dark Medieval Times," an offshoot of the black metal genre that includes numerous references to castles, knights, and bloody battlefields.

Wikipedia is possibly the worst source you could use regarding musical genres.

Nostalgia 09-28-2007 01:23 AM

Dude, Wikipedia is a free encyclopaedia, which means every article is written by everyday people. That's just some retard's opinion on a fictional genre.

What tretcherous Jewbag said.

Dash 09-28-2007 01:28 AM

What other source would you like me to use that is "legit", everyone knows that DMT is medieval bm, when you add sections with medieval chords, lutes, flutes, talk only about medieval subjects, it is known as Medieval BM.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-28-2007 01:28 AM

I agree with what that treacherous speller said.

Nostalgia 09-28-2007 01:32 AM
sick burn
especially at the part where it said "documented on wiki and other sites"

im gonna have to agree with coke here, it might technically be called "medieval metal" but its still black metal with another theme. satyricon didnt really pioneeer some completely new genre, which is probably why you never hear the term "medieval" black metal anymore.
