None so vile kicks ***. i just got it. Kinda hard for me to get into the vocals. dammit. might take me time.
It's definitely worth getting into. The first time I heard Lord Worm's vocals I was kinda put off, too, but after a while they grow on you and you realize that his chaotic vocals fit the music perfectly. |
Yea. Thats how i felt.
k sweet. wat are some bands like skinless?
Suffocation |
I would recommend some bands like Skinless, but I find most of them are worthless & I'd feel bad getting someone into them.
Suffocation isn't very much like Skinless tbh. |
Testament is one of my favorite bands, and I worship Eric Peterson, but Dragonlord fucking sucks.
And isn't death metal.
What sucks about? Aside from a Chessey name. The only album I have is Rapture and it pretty sweet. And I stated it that I didnt think it was death metal in the first place. |
black wings or whatever is really bad. solos are decent, but its definitely not black metal. eric peterson was saying that he had a huge mercyful fate influence but that doesn't really show on the album either.
|
Hmm I'll have to listen to that album. Maybe you should check out Rapture if you havent
|
its funny in the liner notes seeing smyth and peterson in corpsepaint.
|
It's also funny because they think it's black metal.
|
for sure. ok so I realized that I was listening to Black Wings of Destiny today on their myspace page. Rapture is far better.
edit: Robots I seem to remember you bitching and whining when I was being a genre nazi...Now you're going to do it yourself? People consider Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth black metal, regardless if you shity black metal or not. and its better than a lot of the so called "real" black metal. |
The new Insect Warfare is fucking awesome.

You've got to be kidding me..... |
Smart, informed people don't.
Nice That one stung:rolleyes: Damn people just cant talk about METAL and not what something is or isnt...For me, theres Good Metal and Bad Metal. And I would start just a "METAL" thread but everyone would argue about who was what genre |
well, I don't have any experience in listening to Black Wings... myself, but the pure riffage of Rapture makes Dragonlord's existence worthwhile... granted, it is not pure "black metal," I'd say it's a thrash metal record with "black" elements ie: the high-pitched, screeching vocals and the keyboards. As I said earlier, it could've been the follow-up to The Gathering by Testament if Chuck hadn't gotten throat cancer during that period. I think Dragonlord's existence has something to do with a fulfillment of contract that Petersen had with Spitfire at the time, because I don't think he had any feelings of "needing to do something other than Testament." He pretty much was the only original member of Testament, besides Billy, and had full cfreative control. Also, why would he do a different band with the same members of Testament (at the time) if he "wanted to do something different"? I could be wrong about that- that is simply my speculation on the subject of DL's existence as a band. Let's hope the next TESTAMENT album is as good as The Gathering. That record smashed! :smash:

No, I was saying people who know anything about metal at all don't consider them black metal, because they clearly aren't.
EDIT: to Masscows |
yes, we know how dragonlord sounds, they also suck.
|
yes, we know how dragonlord sounds, they also suck.
OK, God. I'll be sure to go break my DL cd now 'cuz you said they suck. Weren't you one of the guys that called me an elitist? |
k sweet. wat are some bands like skinless?
Plain White Ts, Daughtry, stuff like that :) |
if you like Skinless you might like Origin...
or perhaps Dying Fetus? |
Dying Fetus aren't very good.
|
yeah, I don't like 'em... just thought I'd throw it out there...
how about Dissection? If ya like Skinless you'll almost definitely like Dissection. Suffocation too. Don't know f that one was mentioned. |
maybe you could check out Harvest and Soulfracture on the MySpace pages. I liked them.
|
Dissections new stuff is pretty bad. But I don't see what they have to do with The Skinless.
|
No, I was saying people who know anything about metal at all don't consider them black metal, because they clearly aren't.
EDIT: to Masscows
Ok I see what you are saying. I just took it wrong. and sonic.. yes yes and yes |
Nothin' really I guess... I like Dissection, I like Skinless. Maybe he will too?
|
Dissection: Melodic Black Metal
Skinless: Crappy Death Metal I fail to see the similarities here |
Dissection: Melodic Black Metal
Skinless: Crappy Death Metal I fail to see the similarities here
I already said there weren't really any similarities. I don't know for sure about any other Skinless albums, but I liked Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead. |

EDIT: to Masscows
you mean @ masterchaos I hope. |
I don't like Skinless too much tbh.
