This review of Fire + Ice's Birdking is lol.
Each track is a jewel dug from earthen soil. Isolated from each other they would be any other band’s crowning single across an album, but here you have 12 radiant singles gathered for your treasure room of gathered stones and bones, ancient altars and smoking thuribles.
I looked through a few other reviews on there they seemed pretentious as all hell. |
I still need to get Fire + Ice
|
Read's discography is alright, I wouldn't consider any of it particularly mindblowing but its consistently solid.
I feel the same way about Sol Invictus actually. |
Hey Haz, have you listened to Dorothy?
|
I can't say I have even heard of Dorothy.
|
Her discography is limited to a single 7" that clocks in at about four or five minutes. It's on industrial records.
http://www.zshare.net/download/708407060912519f/ You should listen to it urgently, it's a rather curious thing and I need some one else's opinion on it. |
Alright, thanks man :)
Is that Leather Nun release any good? I just have to hear that, Dorothy, Surgical Penis Klinik and Elisabeth Welch and i'll be familiar with all the artists who were on there. |
You know Surgical Penis Klinic is SPK right ?
And yeah the Leather Nun EP is pretty good. Two punk songs, two industrial / post-punk songs, and the CD reissue has a fifteen minute live performance with Cazazza on synths and P-Orridge on violin. |
you know what, I never knew that
that live performance sounds nuts |
They made it stand for something new on every release I think. ****, I still haven't remembered to listen to them.
|
I read it was Sozialistisches PatientenKollektiv somewhere and promptly forgot it.
I need more of their stuff, of course. |
I need the Chris Carter, Richard H Kirk and Elisabeth Welch albums.
I'll probably look for them some time soon. |
I glanced over Richard H Kirk, apparently he was involved with Acid Horse.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid_Horse Did you get that Thomas Leer & Robert Rental album? |
Yeah I have it on the comp, will probably give it a listen soon

Essential first-wave industrial. |
I downloaded from that link twice and both times the file was corrupt.
|
i didn't download it from that one i don't think, that's just one i grabbed from a blog i was using to find information about it
this is another one http://www.sendspace.com/file/es1rn0 Apparently Dorothy is a woman named Max who played in Psychic TV and Rema Rema or something. Genesis P-Orridge wrote the B-Side for the single and I suppose that's why it almost bears some sort of distant resemblance to an industrial sound. **** is violently catchy. |
Just found out that Can has an album called Ege Bamyasi which is Turkish lol. The album art is a can of ege bamyasi which is a vegetable  Should investigate this further.

Could you put it on your blog? |

And yeah I'll Haz I'll get to work on that right now |
So what is everyone's favorite Triarii album/release?
|
It's Aegian Okra. And yeah deal with this album as soon as possible, it's a classic.
And yeah I'll Haz I'll get to work on that right now
So I hear, I shall acquire it tomorrow and expand my kraut rock archive. |
I need to work on finishing the Can discography, I've got most of their major releases but I've yet to listen to the last few albums they did before breaking up. I also desperately need some of Holger Czukay's solo avant garde releases.
And Haz check the blog it should be up |
Thanks.
So what is everyone's favorite Triarii album/release?
I still haven't heard any yet, actually. |
Thanks.
I still haven't heard any yet, actually.
from his latest album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxswjVF5T_s |
That was pretty good Ron, I was expecting something more in the Toroidh vein.
Europa is about the most cliche word you can use in a neofolk/martial industrial song title. http://iamsurroundedbyincompetence.blogspot.com/2010/02/acid-horse-no-name-no-slogan-1989.html Get this Alex. |
was already gonna
|
oh well aren't we the early riser
|
I need to put a few more 7" records on the blog, you need some Suckdog and Johanna Went singles
|
I downloaded Suckdog off some link you gave me I think.
Haven't heard any Johanna Went. Does she actually do anything musical? I thought she just rolled around in blood on stage. |
