blockhead 02-02-2011 11:28 AM

it's weird how similar the megadeth albums are to metallica

kill em all = killing is my business

ride the lightning = peace sells

master of puppets = rust in peace

black = countdown to extinction

style of music wise i mean

Larry Bird 02-02-2011 11:28 AM

witchxrapist 02-02-2011 12:51 PM

As of 06:52 a.m. 02 February 2011 classes are cancelled at both UTM and UTSc campuses due to severe weather. Operations at UTStG are continuing as normal.

they were saying that we were supposed to get the worst of that whole storm system + lake effect from the great lakes, so basically completely shit on. didnt even have to shovel this morning.

TimJim 02-02-2011 01:15 PM
they were saying that we were supposed to get the worst of that whole storm system + lake effect from the great lakes, so basically completely shit on. didnt even have to shovel this morning.
yeah we get really bad lake affect, and since there are no trees [or buildings] to stop the wind the windchill brigns the temp to like -20F

P13 02-02-2011 01:19 PM

it's snowing pretty bad here right now but not bad enough to cancel anything

so many car accidents though

Angmar 02-02-2011 01:21 PM

Yet another sunny and clear day for Seattle.

Still freezing though.

Deth 02-02-2011 01:21 PM

65 degrees here now nice

P13 02-02-2011 01:22 PM

:(

its only -9C right now but it was like -21C yesterday

TimJim 02-02-2011 01:23 PM

damn son

-21C is fucking COLD

it's -4C atm

Angmar 02-02-2011 01:26 PM

40F/4C here

P13 02-02-2011 01:26 PM

it was -34C without the windchill last week :|

hey guys, anyone wanna tell me why my % yield for salicylic acid would be higher than 100%?

Deth 02-02-2011 01:35 PM

miscalculation

idk

P13 02-02-2011 01:36 PM

doubt it

i'm thinking that its because the purification process couldn't wash away chemicals that have the same solubility as the salicylic acid

that's what i'm gonna say, what ever

tl;dr
csb

botb 02-02-2011 01:39 PM

tis like 65 F here.

xMalcolmXx 02-02-2011 01:40 PM

it was -22F like last week. thank god it wasnt windy or it wouldve felt colder!!!!!!

Deth 02-02-2011 01:41 PM

whenever i get percentages higher than 100% (which isnt very often but it happens =/) i put "i am a god" under the answer

usually makes the professors laugh and not deduct points

also what strength was the salicylic acid?

P13 02-02-2011 01:49 PM

@deth
I like chemistry :(

@tim
we were synthesizing salicylic acid, it's not that odd that I got over 100% yield because we had to purify it and dry it. So I just said that it was because of the impurities that had the same solubility as the salicylic acid and how there could have been leftover water-ethanol solution left in the sample afterwards
