Review Summary: You sure look good, Timmy.
Hi, hello, how are you?
Me? I'm stuck. Change is all around me on this Christmas day with the snow slowly melting, the sun firing blinding rays. My parents and their dog dog just left. 2022 is coming. I'm stuck, because I ate too much.
Companion has been out for a while. Change is all around us on this regular-ass day wrapped in tradition and history. Skepticism, almost equally wrapped in their past, have changed. Not like full-on what-the-hell-happened-to-Timmy-and-why-is-he-wearing-eyeliner kind of way, but more in like... those-new-glasses-sure-look-good-on-you-Timmy.
Skepticism are not stuck. They, unlike me, can control themselves, didn't even go for a second round of dinner. Steady, sweeping, but with a dash of majesty, they hum along for 48 minutes. This is not your dad's Skepticism, Companion is too bright in its darkness, too sublime is the view to originate from the 90's.
Companion is also, well... pretty fast. Faster than most funeral doom, going more miles per hour than my during my post-eating run. It's welcome, actually, though you won't get run over, no worries. It's not faster than the snow melting. It won't blind you.
It's one of the better releases of a year stuck in the mud. A year that ate too much. On this solitary Christmas day, it's my Companion. I think and hope that, when the Finns made this, that was their greatest goal. I'm stuck because that's life.
A year that's ready for change. Ready for death or for new life. I'm changing because that's life.
I'm ready.
For the snow to melt.
