Hi Sputnik

Hey, I decided to join this site in order to find good christian music. I really feel that I want to broaden my musical horizons so I figured this site would be good to do that on. Yes, I'm christian but I'm not going to take any crap for it. I just want to listen to music. Anyway here are some of my favorite bands/singers so if you have any recommendations for me that would be awesome!!
1Skillet

My favorite band of all time. The riffs are heavy the lyrics are sincere and Seth is
one of the coolest guitarists I've ever met.
2Underoath

These guys seem really passionate also, although they're a bit too chaotic for my
taste. If there was a band like them that wasn't as crazy then I could probably get
into it. I on't mind that it's heavy, it's just that the riffs are all dissonant and wierd

This band is a bit on the softer/poppier side but I really like their stuff, especially
their first album. This is what I'd play when I had soccer practice.
4As I Lay Dying

I'm not really a big death metal fan but these guys are a really talented group
especially the drummer. Heaviest band I've ever heard and that's saying alot.
5P.O.D.

These guys are so cool especially when they use reggae like sounds. They also get
really heavy sometimes but the reggae and the rapping sort of even it out.
6House of Heroes

This is the first band I'd heard because of this site and they are excellent. I can't
believe I haven't heard of them before.
7Switchfoot

This band also rocks. They have really well thought out lyrics, and the singer (I
don't know his name) is pretty darn good.
8Hawk Nelson

I played Smile, It's the End Of The World nonstop when it first came out. This band
is also pretty cool although they have a couple albums I don't like
9Thousand Foot Krutch

This band is really uplifting although they have a pretty dark sound sometimes they
really know how to get your spirits up
10Creed

I know they're not really a christian band but they really have some songs that
tackle the important spiritual issues. Also the sound gives me a good alternative to
Nirvana, who I like but they really aren't good for you spiritually. Scott's had a
really cool spiritual journey that you can see through his music

THat;s really all the christian bands I like/can really get into. But it's not all
christian music for me. I really like this band, although the music seems really
melancholy a lot of the time

Some friends told me this was a Christian band. I later found out it really wasn't.
They make some good music too, although they get a little too wierd sounding
sometimes and they have some really dark imagery
143 Doors Down

Kryptonite is a pretty cool song. That and Here Without You are my favorites by them
15The White Stripes

I don't like Jack's voice but he is one of the coolest guitarists I've ever heard play.
My friend showed this to me over the summer.
16Green Day

they get a little too vulgar for my taste but this band is pretty excellent. They'd
probably be in my top 10 if they cursed less
17Linkin Park

These guys manage to be one of the angriest sound bands I've ever heard without
resorting to foul language. that's not something you see very often. I listen to this
and As I Lay Dying when I'm in a bad mood.
18The Lumineers

One of my friends has started to get me into the indie sound, which is one of the
reasons I joined this site. I really like what I've heard from this band, which really
isn't much

I also really like this band.
