Genesis Ranked

I'm sure this list has been done to death, but since I've listened to all 15 of these albums, I figured I might as well rank them based on the level of enjoyment I receive from each album.
1Genesis
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

This album is comprised of 23 songs and not only are they all good, but they're all
distintive and yet still fit together. The imagery produced by the lyrics adds to the
experience as well. A perfect album.
2Genesis
Selling England By The Pound

This album contains Genesis' best songs, but I feel "More Fool Me" is a skip-able
track, which is why this album doesn't take the top spot for me.
3Genesis
Foxtrot

Another album with some of their best songs, but again, this contains a skip-able
track in "Time Table".
4Genesis
A Trick Of The Tail

There isn't a bad song on this album, but it can be a bit slower than I'd like
sometimes. However, this contains a great opener in "Dance On A Volcano" and a
great closer in "Los Endos". This album also has a certain atmosphere that's pretty
unique.
5Genesis
Wind & Wuthering

Similar to the preceding album, but with a skip-able pop track in "Your Own Special
Way".
6Genesis
Trespass

The most underrated Genesis album, probably because it's slower and softer than
many would like. But I enjoy every song on this album and it also contains my
favorite Genesis track in "The Knife", which may have been one of the first
Progressive Metal songs.
7Genesis
Nursery Cryme

"The Musical Box", "The Return of The Giant Hogweed", and "The Fountain of
Salmacis" are three of Genesis' best songs, but the rest of the album doesn't come
close. "For Absent Friends" and "Seven Stones" are enjoyable songs, but the other
two are skip-able.
8Genesis
...And Then There Were Three...

This was proclaimed as Genesis' worst album by Genesis themselves, but I enjoy it
quite a bit. It has kind of an awkward direction, as it's sound is caught in the middle
between Progressive Rock and Synth Pop, and there aren't any standout songs, but I
just feel it's a very solid album.
9Genesis
Abacab

This is where they really start to go downhill for me, but I feel this album has some
interesting, quirky songs in "Dodo Lurker" and "Keep It Dark".
10Genesis
Invisible Touch

Even though this album is known for its pop hits, the rest of the album is pretty
interesting. "The Brazilian" is one of my favorites, while "Domino" and "Tonight
Tonight Tonight" provide some progressive elements.
11Genesis
Duke

"Duke Travels" is one of their best songs and "Behind The Lines" is a very good
opener, but this album doesn't do much for me beyond that. Sorry Patrick Bateman.
12Genesis
Genesis

I enjoy both parts of "Home By The Sea", as well as "Mama", but this album is boring
beyond that.
13Genesis
From Genesis To Revelation

This is before Genesis found their calling, so you'll only get a bunch of standard pop
rock songs, but some of them can be pretty cute.
14 Genesis
We Can't Dance

"Fading Lights" is a great song, but the rest of this album is mainly standard pop.
15Genesis
Calling All Stations

This album sucks.
