10.12.12 | I can't stand how Les Paul jrs look
|
menawati
10.12.12 | i dont like the look much either treb but i just love the sound they make, melody makers maybe look a bit nicer |
Ire
10.12.12 | can't stand how les pauls feel |
menawati
10.12.12 | heavy ? |
Ire
10.12.12 | anything fender ftwww |
Ire
10.12.12 | yeah les pauls are heavy, feel super awkward and idk ughghhgghgh just feels WRONG idk omg |
menawati
10.12.12 | ye its hard not to like the body cutaway edge on a lot of fender like designs, certainly makes them more comfortable |
Trebor.
10.12.12 | Les Paul's feel right at home to me, I love the weight, feels so secure |
menawati
10.12.12 | guitar nipple hurts tho lol |
JohnnyoftheWell
10.12.12 | Nice list, I play with a Jackson Dinky and Ibanez RG7321 which are great for heavy stuff but not so good for chords and bluesy liks |
auberginedreams
10.12.12 | i have a les paul and i love the sound, but i agree it's heavy as fuck and the neck is way too chunky/wide/thick so it's a bit harder to play faster riffs and certain chords than on a strat style guitar. i have pretty small hands though so that's part of it. also the action is pretty high and i still get some buzzing, which seems to happen a lot with les pauls, so it can be pretty annoying if i don't turn my amp up loud enough to drown it out. |
menawati
10.12.12 | if u can afford it take it to a guitar shop who have a technician. No matter how good you think u are at setting up a guitar a decent job on it can totally transform it. |
auberginedreams
10.12.12 | yeah i did take it in and get it set up because the fret buzzing was ridiculous when i first bought
it. it's better now but you can still hear it a little, i'm wondering if it has something to do with
putting thicker strings on the three lowest strings. they feel stiff still and it has been a few
months. |
menawati
10.12.12 | could just be a bad neck thats warped somewhere |
ZombicidalMan
10.12.12 | My pride is my G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy, basically a Tele custom, except it doesn't have that dumb pick guard and the extra controls. Clear orange finish with a maple fingerboard. Love it.
No Jazzmaster on the list? I've always loved those. Oh, and Travis Bean guitars. They all rule. |
menawati
10.12.12 | jazzmasters are nice ye, your G&L sounds gorgeous |
ZombicidalMan
10.12.12 | I'm sure a lot of people would hate it, haha. But yeah it sounds great and I love how it looks, so hey, that's what counts.
May be looking into a J Mascis Squier Jazzmaster, they seem like a really good deal. Also if you love PRS', consider the SE Line, because they're actually really nice. I put Lace Pickups in an SE 24 and it's just this sludgey beast now. Love it (and it was already decent before). |
menawati
10.12.12 | want a tele thinline and gonna put a humbucker in it and get a hippy to paint paisley designs on it |
ZombicidalMan
10.12.12 | Cool, I've always liked the classic thinlines, especially with the trippy pickguard. The Classic Series '69 Thinline looks great with a sunburst finish and maple fingerboard. What pickup are you looking into? |
menawati
10.12.12 | just kidding about the humbucker i like teles the way they are, but apparently the current model fender are making is excellent and they aint too expensive |
ZombicidalMan
10.12.12 | Not going to go the Von Till route either? Slap a P90 between the two? =P
The new thinlines are really nice (from the two I've played), plus they look gorgeous. Good luck with getting one, man |
menawati
10.12.12 | "Not going to go the Von Till route either? Slap a P90 between the two? =P "

10.12.12 | lol ok, ye i lack too in net speak |
bloc
10.13.12 | Teles are definitely my favourite guitars. Second, I can't pick between a Gretsch White Falcon or a 335. |
Storm In A Teacup
10.13.12 | Late 70s Strat for me |
menawati
10.13.12 | ye Teles are the bestest, plank of wood, no fucking about, can do hard rock, fingerpicking, blues, reggae, funky shit the works |
menawati
10.13.12 | why late 70s storm, i thought fender were putting out some pretty dodgy stuff around that time |
Storm In A Teacup
10.13.12 | Cuz my dad owns one and he will never sell it. Not this year it's not dodgy. It's a 76 77 or 78 I forget but it's sexxx on a foxxxy beach. |
menawati
10.13.12 | damn, i understand tho u can get really attached to certain guitars |
Ire
10.13.12 | yeah man p90s are wag i love them |
menawati
10.13.12 | ye i misunderstood ire my net speak is shit always has been soapbars are great just love that tone thicker than a piddly strat single coil but still has some bite |
