| Aoty, Finals, Question.... And Thoughts
Why does Mr. Guther have 131073 fans? I don't think Sput Community is half that size. Heres AOTY. Finals suck this year but I'm also graduating. BTW Hypocracy- Final Chapter is a new 5 in my books. (Metalheads) Dust off this album if you haven't listened to it in a while. | 1 | | Converge All We Love We Leave Behind
I must have given the wrong impression, I think Botch and 7 Angels 7 Plagues are my 2 favorite hardcore releases. Converge's last album is somewhere in top 3 material; I don't know where. This one is going to be on lots of AOTY lists, but its a real surprise on mine. I wasn't even going to listen to it after Jane Doe, You Fail Me, and Axe Fall had been disinteresting. I love this album, and is the only album on this list getting daily spins. | 2 | | Beardfish The Void
Odd choice for number 2 cause I have nothing to say, I don't know who this guy is, where he came from, or how to describe this music. Easily my second favorite, and the most unique listen this year. | 3 | | Swans The Seer
Outside of the dreadful midsection in the actual song "The Seer" I love this album. Its hypnotic. | 4 | | Enslaved RIITIIR
This ones not going to be on many lists. I like it more than their last. | 5 | | mewithoutYou Ten Stories
Always had a soft spot for these guys. First listen was disappointing, and then it grew on me. Grist for the Mallady Mill is mewihtoutYou's catchiest song. | 6 | | Rush Clockwork Angels
Brownie points for being 60 and producing an album this good. | 7 | | Menomena Moms
It reminds me of floating in the sea on a lazy summer day. Cheerful, pleasent. | 8 | | Burial Kindred
Props for getting me into electronica again | 9 | | High on Fire De Vermis Mysteriis
Always thought these guys were consistant | 10 | | Tool ????
I'm leaving a slot here for Tool. It may get released this year, and I'm hoping after 6+ years they have something up their sleeve. If not they are as good as dead. I think the band members know this, so...........
(And I don't care how big of a fanbase they have, if they don't produce, in my eyes they are artistically done). | |

11.27.12 | Some decent releases that didn't make the cut;
GYBE- Allelueah! Don't Bend! Acend!- Outside of Mladic and We Drift Like Fire, I think this album is nothing special. Its missing the spark this band had 10 years ago.
Neurosis- Good, but no where near EOES. Not even close.
Deftones- Koi No Yokan Good, not great
Propaghandi- Senses fail
- I've feel this year isn't as memorable as last. Beardfish is what SORNE was to me last year, have I been missing anything? | AStableReference
11.27.12 | How about Scott Walker's new album? | Aids
11.27.12 | dude if you like 8, hold off on making your final list until december 11th. iNTRiKeT's debut LP gets released then and I can tell you that it fucking rules (some of the tunes sound similar to Burial I suppose)
check out my review if you want, but trust me man you will dig the LP: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/53589/iNTRiKeT-The-Woods/
if you don't believe me, try out the one song that the artist (a sputnik user) has posted: http://soundcloud.com/intriket/giant-sun | Mike08

11.27.12 | LOL | JokineAugustus
11.27.12 | The Agonist gets my vote and mine alone. | Skweetis
11.27.12 | It'll probably be Tool's last album anyways whether or not it's good or bad. |
