Gwyn.: Far Cry 3 Is Awesome

Gwyn. 12.07.12	Ok, it didn't COMPLETELY suck, but I HATED the rusty weapons mechanis and the enemy respawn. Very annoying.
apert 12.07.12	enemy respawn was shit, malaria was a bit pointless as well, but apart from that i liked it.
Spluger 12.07.12	I only played like, 2 hours of Far Cry 2 and it just got to be so god damn boring I never tried it again. I've thought about picking it up again since it's only like, 9 bucks used but I wanna try Far Cry 3 just because everyone has been pretty excited about it.
InfamousGrouse 12.07.12	the worst thing about FC2 was the a-to-b in vehicles and the inevitable baddies that would shoot you and you'd have to get out and use the wrench to stop the steam spewing from the engine and get back in and repeat and arghghgh FC3's gonna have to wait until Christmas.

bowlofsoup 12.07.12	The thing that sucked about far cry 2 was it was basically a gigantic empty map. I haven't actually played 3 yet, but it looks much better.
Gwyn. 12.07.12	That's another thing. There was pretty much nothing else to do besides random diamond collecting and some few side missions that were all needed in order to get better equipment and get buy(so not particularly secondary), and the main story. Far Cry 3, so far, has hunting, trials, mercenary and the simple challenge of leveling, apart from the story(obviously).

Gwyn. 12.07.12	@bowlofsoup, that's from the Naruto movie Road to Ninja I don't actually watch or even read Naruto anymore, but I was pretty excited for RtN back in the summer(before I read the spoilers and found that the movie is actually just one huge gimmick) and i just LOVE the change they did for Hinata(it's placed in an Alternative universe), whom I liked a lot in the original series and I like a lot here.

bowlofsoup 12.07.12	I still don't get the appeal of 2. You ran around a huge, empty, map occasionally killing things with guns that aged 90 years in 10 minutes. I finished it, but it was a chore by the end.

breakingthefragile 12.07.12	I loved how realistic the open world of FC2 felt, it was pretty spacious and didn't feel like there was a lot of areas crammed into it, and I also liked how the physics engine reacted to what you did, like forrest fires and what not, but I think that the realism came at the price of there not being too much to do while exploring, and the lack of an eventful landscape made the novelty wear off fast. Far Cry 3 looks to me like it easily avoids that issue, the environments look luscious, lively, and gorgeous, impeccable detail, and there looks like there's a lot more to do with many more appealing characters to sustain interest in game when it's 5 times as big as Far Cry 2.
