My Bloody Valentines Day

Live life vague and woozy
1All Natural Lemon and Lime Flavors
All Natural Lemon and Lime Flavors

Shoegaze is a genre with a multitude of hidden gems and obscurities, where lack of exposure and popularity have absolutely no bearing on musical caliber. Some of the best shoegaze records ever made are essentially unknown outside of a very small group of internet nerds. I'll start off the list with an extremely underrated band, they are seriously so fucking good. Preview track (ohh god this track is such a classic): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhYfuLa8H9c
2Jesus Fever
Dozens Of Great Views

From japan.
3Drop Nineteens
Delaware

Another classic, one of my favorite songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4oCboj39jo
4Lilys
In the Presence of Nothing

One of the best shoegaze albums ever made. Sure it's extremely influenced by Isn't Anything, but it legitimately sounds as good as MBV in their early years. Lilys went on to play a large variety of genres, but their first few records are gaze essentials.
5Loop
A Guilded Eternity

Loop was a neo-psychedelic band and are considered proto-gaze. This is their 3rd album and it's an absolute masterpiece. As their name would suggest, Loop often take one riff and repeat it over and over to the point of mind-numbing euphoric bliss.
6My Bloody Valentine
Isn't Anything

The most important shoegaze album ever made, as well as my favorite.
7Starlight Conspiracy
Sounds Like A Silver Holler
8Swallow
Blow
9The Boo Radleys
Ichabod And I
10The Suncharms
Tranquil Day
11Ultra Cindy
The Mermaid's Parade

Underrated, has a couple greaat tracks.
12Rollerskate Skinny
Horsedrawn Wishes

I'm really not sure why this isn't more well-known considering that this is Jimi Shields' band. mhm, Kevins' little brother is in an excellent shoegaze band as well.
13Velocity Girl
Copacetic

Female vocals, real good.
14Venus Beads
Incision

Shoegaze with a punk edge.
15Wonky Alice
Atomic Raindance

Weird post-punk gaze.
16Pale Saints
In Ribbons

A forgotten classic, dream pop/gaze.
17Catherine Wheel
Ferment
18Luminous Orange

Pretty popular shoegaze group from Japan, led by Rie Takeuchi (attractive Japanese lady). Check this out(song is 10/10): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHei9dSny9c

A Certain Smile, a Certain Sadness

Twee shoegaze dream pop whatever, a classic. This features a very prominent organ throughout, resulting in a pretty memorable sound.
28Low Sunday Ghost Machine
Low Sunday Ghost Machine

Very post-punky gaze, dark and noisy.
29Bethany Curve
Skies a Crossed Sky

Well shit. This album blew me the fuck away. Some of the most non-MBV shoegaze I have ever heard. There's stuff going on on this record that shields did on m b v, yet this came out in the 90's. Searing tone, unique songwriting, and lots of energy. One of my most highly recommended shoegaze albums.

EXTREMELY similar to Psychocandy mmmm. Screeches with the best of 'em. I sure do love albums that have covers featuring blurry guitar strumming.

The Visitors From Deepspace

Japanese deathgaze.

59Revolver (UK)
Cold Water Flat

This has some pretty unique instrumentation. Don't hear horns, strings, xylophones, pianos, and didgeridoo in gaze too often.
60The Verve
A Storm In Heaven
61Soda Stereo
Dynamo

Not too into the vocals on this one, but it?s a fantastic record otherwise.

Crystallize

Hard. This is one of the best nu-gaze MBV worshippers out there. Pure sex guitar tones and catchy, pretty female vocals. Doesn't stray far from the typical formula but don't let that fool you. I expected this band to be a tiresome rehash but this is some absolutely gorgeous stuff. For fans of beautiful, glorious noise and Japanese women.

Gaze with a post-punk edge featuring really slow, dark songs.
92The Charlottes
Things Come Apart

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XSp2iHWZZw
93Cranes
Wings of Joy

More dream pop than anything but damn this is beautiful, vocals are perfect.
94Shallow
High Flyin Kid Stuff

More really unusual female vocals, you'll dig this if you like Cranes. I'm positive that it is literally impossible to find a rip of this on the internet, but I just bought the cd. If you?re interested I can hook you up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7k1AWQXvTA
95Teenage Filmstars
Rocket Charms

Edward Ball's band (creator of Creation records- J&MC, MBV, Slowdive, etc.) This is much less innocent than it appears. This is some noisy, abrasive, bizarre music. Indecipherable warped vocals, trebly swirling riffs and so much noise that it can be hard to even tell what's going on. Imagine if sound could swirl down a drain like water in a bathtub and that's about what it sounds like. And then strangely enough, the record goes ambient and electronic towards the end. If you're like me and you prefer the more abrasive side of shoegaze to the dream pop side, this will be your jam.
96All Natural Lemon and Lime Flavors
Turning Into Small

This is just as classic as their other album, but this is the more well-regarded one.
