Cygnatti 04.07.13	Tree, I'm gonna hang you if that Girls' Generation album sucks. I loved k-pop in like 9th grade, but I hated the direction most of the big names were going so I completely stopped listening by 10th grade.
Wolfhorde 04.07.13	There's this German music genre called "Schlager" and it's the worst thing in the history of music (together with German 'gangster rap') and I'm pretty sure there's a Schlager artist called Haino. (if not, it definitely sounds like a name a Schlager artist would have) As you can see I'm trying to avoid this stuff like it's the Spanish flu.

treeqt. 04.07.13	Yo Cygnatti I don't know what you like in pop music but I think either T-ara's Funky Town or Girls' Generation's japanese s/t (technically not k-pop, but it's just their korean songs with japanese lyrics put together for the japanese market) are much, much better. I Got A Boy is probably their worst to be honest, I only put it in there for the video really. The rest is my top 21 though. @wolf wow how did I not get that. It's Heino btw :P

Wolfhorde 04.07.13	Well, I wasn't just referring to that kinda stuff but basically generally braggadochous German rap (which probably takes up the majority of it together with pseudo-deep bullshit). Also, no matter whether it's "essential" (whoever the fuck decides that) it's still pretty eh. Kool Savas at least had actual skill.
treeqt. 04.07.13	Regardless of how fucking bad they are (and they are), Aggro Berlin got the Gangster Rap thing so much public attention during its heyday that hip hop has one of the biggest music scenes in Germany nowadays. Everyone making â‚¬â‚¬â‚¬ in German hip hop today is only able to do so because of Aggro Berlin. It's of course been shitty music but that's true for almost all of German hip hop. Now, if we are talking about more than just gangster rap then I'll obviously not recommend any of what I actually did recommend. I probably wouldn't rec any because, to me, German hip hop's only redeeming quality is the lyrics (with a few exceptions) with Kollegah being a prime example for that. There are some really good producers (Dexter, Suff Daddy) but they are mainly doing stuff for american rappers or german underground rappers who I don't listen because there is so much more interesting music out there.
