Moderately Sized List

More stuffs of interest.
1Mathias Grassow
Transpersonal

Darkly soothing tones.
2Morton Feldman
Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello

Will keep repping this because it is one of his best pieces.
3 Maurizio
MCD

More Basic Channel techno domination.
4Void
Condensed Flesh
5Michael Pisaro and Toshiya Tsunoda
Crosshatches

Reception seems to be mixed amongst the miniature avant-garde circle of Sputnik,
but I really enjoyed this. It would have placed high-ish on my 2012 list.
6Jorge Ben
Samba Esquema Novo

Listened to a bunch of MPB/Bossa/general Brazilian albums in the last week or so.
Great stuff.
7Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso
Domingo
8Joao Gilberto
Chega de Saudade

Title track is so good.
9 Nara Leao
Dez Anoz Depois
10The Ex

Continually repping these guys.
11The Ex

Come on.
12 Kalaprusha Maurice McIntyre

14Grant Green

15Frank Lowe
Black Beings
16Crucifix
Dehumanization
17 Ajilvsga
The Origin of the Chaul

Great noisy drone/ambient.
18Charles Gayle
Repent

His release from last year, Streets, gained a few ratings on here, but his big couple of
releases from the early '90s blow it out of the water. This is absolutely insane stuff.
Long, spirited jams in a similar vain to late Coltrane (Live in Japan, etc).
19William Parker
O'Neal's Porch

Another free jazz legend that I have had little luck pushing on Sputnik. This album is
quite accessible by free/avant jazz standards, particularly for it's strong rhythmic
base, provided by of course Parker's fantastic bass playing (best since Mingus) and
the rock solid Hamid Drake. The first few tracks are especially good.
20Brigitte Fontaine and Art Ensemble of Chicago
Comme a la radio
21Brighter Death Now
Innerwar
22 Blind Willie Johnson
Dark Was the Night
23Bela Bartok
The Miraculous Mandarin, Sz. 73
24Gyorgy Kurtag
Kafka-Fragments

Newfoundland

Seant (Polish Jazz, Vol. 11)

Same series that brought you Astigmatic.
