I do agree with sonic, Skyrim feels too much like that kind of game that wants you to go "fuck yeah" all over, much like any other mainstream game these days, which feel ridden of complexity and depth and strive upon visual impact.

Pennywise_M
07.10.13 | Well, i'd change a lot of things in Morrowind, but as it is i feel like it isn't more restrictive than Skyrim.
With better graphics, NPC routines and overhauled interaction system, better combat gameplay and a few tweaks on a few little things (like buying houses and going to prison) this game would be perfect. Like, as in perfection stands. Flawless |

Oblivion:

Also best quests (Dark Brotherhood, yeeeah)

Same here bro, The Poison is one of those albums, and yeah old KsE was also part of my video game music diet m/
Yeah for now i'm just gonna keep playing my Morrowind, maybe soon enough i'll go back to try Oblivion and maybe actually end up playing it a whole lot. Yesterday i was at my bro's house and we were talking an awful lot about games (mainly the elder scrolls series) and he turned on his Skyrim on the pc and just went doing some quest in order to "counter balance" what i was mentioning about people saying that Skyrim's quests were dull and repetitive for the most part. He ended up looking for a dog named Barbas, encountering it and suddenly the dog speaks (a dog that speaks yes) and we're asked to go talk with a Daedra dude for him. We followed the dog for at least 10 minutes into the wild and man, that was sooo ridiculous.

Vakarian12

NapalmCrusader
07.11.13 | Actually the whole saga is flawless, but morrowind is better. Oblivion was really cool but I hated
that you could only enchant items with the sigil stone of the oblivion gates and sometimes some
combats could get a little bit boring, knights of the nine and the shrivering isles are very cool.
Skyrim has spectacular fighthings and the world feels more natural, is not repetitive unless you play
the generic bounty hunter quest of every city ( kill this renegade, kill that giant, kill that
bandit, blah, blah, blah) besides the shouts add some great shit to the game, but the bugs of that
games are annoying and the fact that they removed a lot of skills, spells and abilities just pisses me

You walk so slow and the combat wasn't fun at all, I realize it probably gets a lot better as you reach higher levels but I gotta say it has an extremely weak start. I won't be playing morrowind anymore it was just tedious and just plain not fun to play. I'd rather play the skyrim DLC's, halfway through dragonborn and it's pretty sweet. 07.12.13 | Yeah since the moment i started this new Morrowind save i've been having a hard time getting immersed in it. After getting to know the mechanics of both Oblivion and Skyrim it's a little hard to. The scennarios are awesome, but that doesn't help to create that open world atmosphere i have felt on Oblivion. When you think about how static the npc's are, humph. It's like there's no life in there, its all about you. Then the combat gameplay is a really unrewarding experience compared to the most recent releases. Having all that said, it's still an amazing game and i would continue to insist upon it, but today i had to overcome 2 incredibly stupid bugs that i thought the patches had covered easily, it was a huge tease breaker. So i think i'll be installing Oblivion.
Like i said before, no doubt that Morrowind is the most in depth game and the quests are awesome. But i think i'd rather stick a different type of experience. |

07.12.13 | Oblivion was my first and probably is still my favourite, the Dark Brotherhood questline in that game is the best questline in any TES game. I can understand why people prefer morrowind as it definitely has the most interesting world and it doesn't hold your hand nearly as much as the other 2. I haven't sunk that many hours into it yet, but it's a really good game. Infact they're all good games, people say Skyrim is for casuals, mainly because it sold a fuckload for an RPG. I disagree, yeah its more accessible but people telling you that Morrowind is so much more hardcore are lying. All amazing games can't really go wrong with any of them |

But I really liked Oblivions atmosphere. I love Skyrim too, but I wish there were more enemies to fight. After you've seen like 10 different enemies, you've seen just about all of them. |
Gyromania
07.12.13 | "gyro saying skyrim is better just bc of graphics and combat is pretty shortsighted."
most of my favourite games aren't amazing graphically and most are from older gen consoles, so graphics aren't usually a huge deal to me, but sandbox games inarguably suffer more in the graphics department because they're constantly being outdated. shortsighted with any other genre, sure. i mean, what's better: grand theft auto 3 or grand theft auto 4? the elder scrolls games are all about trying to make a believable and richly detailed world. skyrim is as close as they've come to accomplishing that. i'm not bashing morrowind, because i've had some good times playing it, but skyrim expands on everything that made it so great. also, vast amounts of quests do not a better game make |

TheNexus100
07.12.13 | the world/setting has to be the worst part. It's like they sucked all the personality, depth and charm out of Morrowind's design and atmosphere just so they could have more time to add voice acting and better graphics |

I don't feel so good about the question markers, but it's all about perspective. If you want to feel like an hardcore rpg gamer and all, no compass or question markers is cool. But hey, there's a good side to it. I really dig the fact that i can go "well now i feel like exploring as fuck" and not needing to remember a bunch of directions nor reading a somewhat weird/confusing journal. Which in the end would pretty much be like having a compass on your head anyway. Peepz might as well just go "ok then so i gotta go here, might as well explore my way there" wtv.
You can turn those off anyway, but fucking directions to quests are nowhere to be found. anyway fast travel is disabled right away, i hate that shit to death |
Pennywise_M
07.12.13 | Also, no need to stick to the markers.
Nah they all have major advantages. I fail to understand why so many people despise Oblivion and/or take it as the worst in the series. Hell, it's a fucking good game. It simply sticks to a more peaceful, conventional setting. I love it |

and gyro to be honest i probably like gta3 more bc i only played gta4 a little bit lol but that's neither here nor there. morrowind IS the most richly detailed and believable world that bestheda has created, imo - not so much graphically (although the whole setting of morrowind is the most imaginative and unique of all the elder scrolls) but the depth of the lore, the writing, the characters. it just feels much more lived in. granted skyrim did a much better job of that than oblivion (and i like it almost as much as morrowind) but there's something about morrowind that just makes me feel like there's always something more to unearth. |

07.21.13 | So i've been playing Skyrim and found this particular thing to be kinda of a turn off. Some followers never actually die, and then it's close to impossible to drive them away from the enemies when they get up from that knocked out state. And they really spoil a guy's cover, and place themselves in the most incovenient of places, and i really like that they went for it, but i really wish they felt more organic. And them not actually dying is bullshit imo. It grinds my gears as i feel it sucks out some of the games realism, and makes for an easy exploit against tough enemies, like mammoths for instance. Lydia just stood there getting her asskicked distracting them while i shot them with my bow on the distance. At first i was like "oh shit she's dead!! Oh well, thats what i get for fucking with them in the first place. if only the bitch kept up with my plans and grabbed her bow too, we'd be fine".............. " OH WAIT, she's up...... lol mammoth tusks for everyone yolo
As of now? Meh to followers.
Nice try though Bethesda, keep it up |

07.21.13 | Oblivion was awesome solely for shivering isles. Otherwise, it's no question, Morrowind hands down. I played it for years off of the mods online. I break it out every now and then, although the wonder of it has long since faded, probably because the gameplay itself is kinda boring as shit. |
