07.16.13 | Double Nickels On The Dime is a great album title. It was called that in opposition to Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55", because they thought driving over the speed limit wasn't that terribly rebellious. So, on the cover it shows a picture of Mike Watt driving 55 mph (double nickels) on rt. 10 (on the dime).
I love all Minutemen album titles though. I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of the cover of What Makes A Man Start Fires |

Well piano folk might not but how about soul wrenching anguish? |

07.16.13 | For what it's worth I think my girlfriend listens to Fiona apple, so I'm already going into it with a bit of doubt. But opening your mind and shit, ya know? |
YakNips
07.16.13 | Yeah man, if you dig it that's great, but I honestly don't think it's going to be your cup of tea, and it's certainly not mine |

07.16.13 | It's her best album hands down and I thought it was brilliant. It really feels (to me) as though she poured her soul into it. After you listen to it download her WTF interview with Marc Maron. |

07.16.13 | I meant to listen to that Fiona Apple album but never got round to it. |

07.16.13 | Music doesn't have to have guitar for me to enjoy it. |
MosesMalone
07.16.13 | So far it's actually pretty good, very inoffensive whereas most music like this has a couple of standout elements that really irk the hell out of me. I like how she doesn't capitalize on the "quirky and zany" factor that these kinds of singer/songwriters usually do. However sparse albums like this always feel like a soundtrack to me, as though they're missing particular elements to allow them to be complete listens. Although as I typed that, I listened to Daredevil and I fucking love it. |
TheSupernatural
01.08.14 | Late to the party, don't even care.
Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
RATM - The Battle of Los Angeles
Thursday - War All the Time
Matthew Good - Hospital Music
Blue October - Consent to Treatment
And one my favorite, most pretentious album titles ever: The Melody and Energetic Nature of Volume, by Evans Blue |
