| Opeth Rankingd
I know, EVERYONE and their ALTS makes makes Opeth lists, but guess what? I haven't been able to stop listening to them as of late. It's getting obnoxious, but since it's been years since I've made the list so I don't feel too bad. Here's my ranking: | 1 | | Opeth Still Life
Still the best. The material on that album is amazing. Fav Song: Godhead's Lament. | 2 | | Opeth My Arms, Your Hearse
Once Upon A Time; this was my LEAST favorite Opeth. I was still in transition to heavy metal, didn't care for the production level... blah blah. Fav Songs: April Etheral and When can't be beat. (Except for 'To Bid You Farewell') | 3 | | Opeth Ghost Reveries
Aesthetically speaking this is my favorite Opeth. Love the drums, the progression of the songs, STOP GO. I miss Martin Lopez. Fav Song: Baying of the Hounds | 4 | | Opeth Morningrise
To Bid You Farewell........gah. And to think it is one of Mikael's least favorite??? TNASW too is excellent. I also really like the live version alteration of Advent. | 5 | | Opeth Blackwater Park
Leper Affinity and Bleak are ace, but the rest isn't quite as interesting. The title song is an excellent closer though. Fav Song: Leper Affinity | 6 | | Opeth Orchid
Morningrise but not as good. Still it's interesting, which I can't say wholeheartedly about these bottom 4. Fav Song: None, they all blend together for me. | 7 | | Opeth Heritage
Not as awful as people make it out to be. Is Famine terrible? Do the tracks take awkward progressions? YES, BUT think about the production level, Vocals, Album Art, bass, end of Folklore, and the simple fact that the lead singer is motivated to rotate to new territories. Fav Song: The Lines In My Hands. | 8 | | Opeth Damnation
I recently re listened to this, and it just is so Goddam boooooring. Some sections are interesting but I can't muster a listen through this whole album often. Fav Song: Windowpane | 9 | | Opeth Watershed
People are split between Ghost Reveries and Watershed. IMO this was the giant mis-step. Fav Song: The Lotus Eater | 10 | | Opeth Deliverance
I actually really like the song Deliverance. Master's Apprentice is pretty good too. Let's not speak of the other songs... | |
