grish 02.04.14	when i used windows i got the blue screen of death every once in awhile, it's not that big of a deal anyway lenovo is a good brand but i think if i had to buy another laptop i'd pick mac over windows-based (provided money wasn't an issue, which it probably would be) i used to ignorantly make fun of macs but i use linux now and i hate going back to windows, and macs are the next best option
bakkermaarten007 02.04.14	I don't make fun of macs, but a large part of the mac crowd just irks me =) . All just another face in the crowd, with the same looking laptops. It's just not me, although the convenience of the OS speaks to me, but I haven't got problems with Windows either.

Acanthus 02.04.14	@Hyperion - took my rec, love the Idea/Thinkpads of old (use a T410 myself). Used Thinkpad for around $300, grab a second HDD/SSD + caddy and upgrade the RAM to max all for around $450ish total. Linux works great on them, and the keyboard is awesome.

climactic 02.04.14	if thats actually the reason you dont want one, that's pretty stupid. for your purposes, the 14 inch mb pro is perfect. may be a little pricey but it was last you at least 5 years and, and their customer service/warranties are really great. i sent mine to the factory under warranty a few months ago because it was being a little slower than normal, and aside from fixing the logic board, they gave me a whole new keyboard and screen for free because there were a few little dents. seriously at least consider it /macfag
