Muisc4Life26 03.22.14	Rage is kinda considered nu metal though. They were first to combine, rap and hard rock with their sound. So techinically they fall into the Nu Metal category.
SurfWaxAmerica 03.22.14	Yes, but they didn't use the medium of rap for love songs or angst, unlike every single other nu-metal band out there. RATM was a political rap-rock band, and they may have inspired the genre like Faith No More did, but they're not nu-metal in the slightest.
Onirium 03.22.14	If these are the best nu metal album, then I'm so not a fan of nu metal. SOAD, Deftones and Rage are pretty cool, but I really don't care for this genre in general.

VermTheImpaler 03.22.14	Nu metal is like a hit or miss genre, love some albums 1,4,7,7-10,14 are cool as fuck, add nottingface, snot,crossbreed, nonpoint, the first album of incubus. Sadly genre has stuff like papa roach, limp bizkit, adema, crazytown, hed pe, saliva and more. By the way, despite of being more technical and more honest than their contemporaries SOAD and Deftones are nu metal, sure they included more complex instrumentation and more alt metal elements but they still have downtuned guitars, groovy bass lines and other elements common in the nu metal era
