Deal Makers And Breakers

I have argued before about Iron Maiden not being able to make a perfect album. That is a hard feat for any band; however in their early catalogue there always seems to be a really killer track (more than one often) and that one track that just kills the flow.
1Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden

Killer Track: Iron Maiden - What else can you say, yes there are better written songs on the album (hello Phantom) but this is the one that get's the crowd going every show.
Album killer: Strange World - Just slows the pace down so much in the middle of the album. While it is not a terrible song, it just kills the flow that leads up to it.
2Iron Maiden
Killers

Killer Track : Wrathchild - Almost in the same vein of 'Iron Maiden' a short and fun 'shout along' jam. Possibly one of my favorite shorter Maiden songs ever, flows really well with the opening track and sounds awesome live.
Album killer : Innocent Exile - This is the definition of filler; the album would be better suited without it.
3Iron Maiden
The Number of the Beast

Killer Track : Run to the Hills - Maiden doesn't get better than this. Awesome drums, incredible bass line, a story to tell with the lyrics and singing. This was everything that made Dickinson era Maiden sweet.
Album killer : Gangland - Go ahead, ask 100 Maiden fans to sing Run to the Hills for me. Now, ask the same 100 fans to sing gangland......
4Iron Maiden
Piece of Mind

Killer track : Flight of Icarus - So hard to choose here, but again; great story telling in a song. Though The Trooper is a damned close second.
Album killer : Still Life - It is almost unfair to the song, but after the stellar opening 5 song salvo, this is the start of the gradual let down. Is a major step below the tracks that proceed it.
5Iron Maiden
Powerslave

Killer track : 2 Minutes to Midnight - Go jam it now. 90% of this album absolutely destroy's and this track is the bees knees.
Album Killer : Back in the Village - While it is not a terrible song, everything around it is so fucking good. When I listen to Powerslave, this is the track that is always skipped.
6Iron Maiden
Somewhere in Time

Killer track : The Lonliness of the Long Distance Runner - What... what, yeah I said it. Great epic song, really hits a sweet spot on the album and builds incredibly on itself.
Album killer : Deja-Vu - Gah, such a huge step back in terms of actual song writing. Really middle of the road and the shitty lyrics drag it down.
7Iron Maiden
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Killer track : Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Possibly the best "title track" from the band. Really a great blend between their metal heritage and their developing (at this point) progressive leans. Though Can I Play With Madness is a damned close second.
Album killer : The Prophecy - Like other tracks mentioned before, it is not terrible, but after SSoaSS it's an epic letdown and throws off the momentum that was built before it.
8Iron Maiden
No Prayer for the Dying

Killer track : Bring Your Daughter... - After a mostly mediocre (and in some spots terrible) album this is like a breath of fresh air. A return to their roots, and quite welcome at this point.
Album killer : Public Enema Number One - You could really choose a few songs from the "A" side of this one, however this track is just meh, and with such a stupid name, it drags it way down. Just terrible.
9Iron Maiden
Fear of the Dark

Killer Track : Afraid to Shoot Strangers - Yes the title track is better, but this song is massively underrated and builds to an epic conclusion. Love the solo in this one.
Album killer : From Here to Eternity - As much as I sometimes like this song, it is absolutely terrible. "She fell in love with his greasy machine....." really? Gah, as bad as NPFTD was, nothing will be worse than that.
