| Cds With 1 Song That Keeps It From Being A 5. Part 1.
Pretty much every 4.5 album has 2-3 songs that are just okay, and that knocks it down to a 4.5 or 4. But there are also a lot of albums that have 1 song that is either so bad or extremely bland, wwhich just kills the mood and makes the album a non-classic. Here are a few examples. | 1 | | Prince Purple Rain
Computer Blue: Cheesey, Unimaginitive, and plain boring. Plus it doesn't really fit with the other songs IMO | 2 | | Jay-Z The Blueprint
All I Need: One of the worst Jay-Z songs on one of his best albums. Not to mention one of the worst beats Kanye West has ever done. Every other song on this album is just awesome, this song just drags the Blueprint down. | 3 | | My Bloody Valentine Loveless
What You Want: By no means a bad song. Just kinda boring compared to every other song on the rest of the album. I can't skip any other track on Loveless, but I find myself getting bored of this song. That said, I still might move this from a 4.5 to a 5 one day. | 4 | | Kyuss Wretch
Katzenjammer: Seriously. Why is this album so underrated? Even amongst stoners and Kyuss fans, this album gets no love. It's personally my favorite Kyuss album. Even Katzenjammer is a great song, it's just nowhere near as good as all of the other songs. Mainly since the version on the Sons Of Kyuss is better and I'm kinda disappointed they kinda tamed it down. Nontheless, it's a classic in my book. And I will be reviewing it soon. | 5 | | Pink Floyd Meddle
Seamus: You can call it nitpicky, but this song just totally spoils the album for me, considering how nearly perfect the rest of the songs are. | 6 | | The Mars Volta The Bedlam In Goliath
Soothsayer: Sry guys. I actually like the song now, but it's just garbage compared to the rest of the album. | 7 | | Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt
D'evils: Filler to me. But every other song is pretty much classic. Actually fuck that, they are classic. Just not this. | 8 | | Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
I Do Not Want This: It's grown on me a lot since the first hundred times I've heard it, but still seems like filler to me. | 9 | | Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Tearz: A good song, but just doesn't fit with the classics on this album. Every other song is just amazing. Still, closer to a 5 than a lot of the other albums on here. | 10 | | Metallica Master Of Puppets
The Thing That Should Not Be: I know i'm gonna catch hell for this one, or be called Cliche. I like the song to be honest, but it just doesn't go anywhere IMO. All the other songs are just way better. | 11 | | Air Moon Safari
New Star in the Sky (Chanson Pour Solal): The rest of the album is ambient genius. This song is just boring filler to me. | 12 | | Basement Jaxx Remedy
Yo-Yo: Actually a really good song, but I really have to be in the mood for it, which I don't have to be for the rest of the album. | 13 | | Coil Horse Rotorvator
The Golden Section: I hate putting this on here. This album was a 5 for so long, but even the Golden Section really fits with the album, it's just a guy talking about death. And all the other songs are beyond classic. Plus the production is just okay, which I didn't want to admit for the longest time. Still one of the few albums I still consider a Classic despite rating 4.5, I can only say that for 3 other albums. | 14 | | Dr. Octagon Dr. Octagonecologyst
Dr. Octagon: I like the lyrics, but the beat just bores me to tears. The album is perfect otherwise. Even Bear Witness, and the Gynocologyst skit (Which might be my favorite skit of all time BTW) | 15 | | Kraftwerk Trans-Europa Express
Europe Endless: I'm probably going to have to up this to a 4.5. This song goes on too long and the lyrics are just cheesey, even for a Kraftwerk song. But the rest of the album is just amazing | 16 | | GZA/Genius Liquid Swords
Swordsman: A great song, don't get me wrong, just doesn't belong on the album IMO. Another album I might up to 5 anyway. | 17 | | Eric B. and Rakim Paid In Full
Extended Beat: So many hip-hop heads try and defend this song, but I think everyone secretly knows its a shitty way to end such an awesome album | 18 | | Outkast Aquemini
Slump: One of the other 3 albums I consider a classic despite rating 4.5, in fact I might bump it up to a 5 again. But this song is easily the worst on the album. It's just flat out boring. | 19 | | NWA Straight Outta Compton
Quiet On The Set: Some people would say somethin 2 dance 2 ruins the album. But I love that song. This son has a bland beat, and the Lyrics aren't really good compared to the other great songs. Still a classic album to me, tho. | 20 | | Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
The Real Slim Shady: Some say Amityville, but again, I like that song. No doubt there's a flaw on this album. I never really like The Real Slim Shady, despite starting out as a gigantic Eminem fanboy. When I got the album, needless to say I almost always skipped this. | |
Big Baby Jesus
05.25.08 | As you can tell. Part 1 is mostly Electronica and Rap albums. Part 2 will be more Classic and Modern Rock. I'm glad i'm doing this. It's really making me reconsider how I feel about my favorite albums. | MrKite
05.25.08 | I love Tearz and Swordsman. Although, Liquid Swords is my third or second favorite album so I'm not a person who can discuss it's flaws.. | VicariousIntent
05.25.08 | I totally agree with you on The Thing That Should Not Be. | Burn2Burn
05.25.08 | I like the Real Slim Shady :( | charlesfishowitz
05.25.08 | "the thing that should not be" is the best song off of that album(crazy ass solo)...and there is worse stuff on that dr. octagon album...like all the short lame filler tracks(like the ones you said were good). | Big Baby Jesus
05.25.08 | OH FUCK!!! Patient just died in room 105! CIRRHOSIS OF THE EYE! | ninjuice
05.25.08 | Although I haven't listened to it much, I'd say the Black Album is much better than the Blueprint. Need to heard Reasonable Doubt though. | slep
05.25.08 | Swordsman is my favorite track on Liquid Swords :( | joshuatree
05.25.08 | Bedlam in Goliath and Master of Puppets have a lot of bad songs on them. I completely agree with 1, 8, 9, and 20 though, and I'd have to say that I don't think there really is a bad song on 3. | Chewie
05.25.08 | oh i agree with 8 immensly, how I Do Not Want This is the worst by far. Although the album is still a 5 for me and is probably my favorite album. | Thor
05.25.08 | Wintersun's self titled
The song Sleeping Stars. | willfellmarsy
05.25.08 | Soothsayer owns...it's so different for TMV...with the chilled out nature and slower pace then the rest of the album...i still wouldn't give it a 5 because i think Cavelletas is too long but still it owns. | Big Baby Jesus
05.25.08 | The first few times I heard Cavalettas, I wasn't crazy about it, but now it's honestly one of my favorites on the album. It goes by really fast to me for some reason.
ninjuice. I guarantee you Reasonable Doubt is the best thing Jay-Z has done.

06.02.08 | smiths-smiths. miserable lie.awful song
smiths-the queen is dead.vicar in a tutu | Spamue1G
08.11.08 | I Do Not Want This stops TDS from being a 5? Seriously? It doesn't seem like filler at all, imo. The whole album is filler-free the way I see it. As for Pink Floyd, I would love to be able to say Meddle is perfect, but I agree with you, unfortunately :( Agreed with 36 Chambers as well. In fact, almost completely agreed with all of them, but I like The Real Slim Shady, although I still can't give MMLP a 5. | ECRbubs
10.22.08 | I love Slump and All I Need... | HailToTheThief
01.05.09 | I actually like all I need... at least I did when I was 13.
and trust me, there are much worst jay-z songs. |
