| Electronic Stuff I Dig, Got Recs?
This will probably be my last list of the year before I make my top r10/25/50/whatevz, so I figure I would rrjust throw this out there. Too tired to rcome up with descriptions for each album, but I wonder if you rrguys have any recs rfor me? My taste in electronic music varies a lot, this will probably be everything rrrfrom IDM to Drum&Bass, from electropop to dubstep, UK Garage to House. I don't rknow what I'm rrgonna put on here yet so it's hard to say. rBut I like music that's either really bright and twinkly with rlots rof melodies, rrhythmic and groovy, or pretty mechanic and dark (but still emotional, conjuring rup rrimages of futuristic cities, like a dystopian kind of feel), eh well. Preferrably some chillout stuff. That rrrcalms you down. rI have heard most of the stuff people shit their pants of on this site (Boards Of rrCanada, Autechre, BT, retcetc), so don't rec the MOST obvious stuff. Throw some cool stuff at me. rI also rrdidn't include a lot of stuff that I feel are bands that use electronics, but aren't really... "electronic" rper rrse. SOoo uh. Otherwise the list would've been quite different | 1 | | Tycho Dive | 2 | | Amon Tobin Bricolage | 3 | | Rameses B Inspire | 4 | | Lights Little Machines | 5 | | Tineidae Shadows | 6 | | Air Tycoon Winter Purple | 7 | | Cashmere Cat Mirror Maru | 8 | | Bonobo The North Borders | 9 | | Submotion Orchestra Fragments | 10 | | DjRUM Mountains | 11 | | Jon Hopkins Immunity | 12 | | Moderat II | 13 | | Rustie Glass Swords | 14 | | Netsky Eyes Closed/Smile | 15 | | Lido I Love You | 16 | | Burial Untrue | 17 | | Sorrow (UK) Dreamstone | 18 | | Mystery Skulls Forever | 19 | | CHVRCHES The Bones Of What You Believe | 20 | | Emancipator Safe In The Steep Cliffs | 21 | | The Flashbulb Arboreal | 22 | | Band Album | 23 | | Band Album | 24 | | Band Album | 25 | | Album | |

12.03.14 | Thanks for the recs everyone! I do like Friendzone, Calc. Cool stuff even though I haven't fully immersed myself in their discography. Just the DX album, and I love that.
Machinedrum is decent enough Hyperion, but I have a hard time getting into his stuff more than just listening every now and then and go like "yeah, this is AIGHT"
Chocophilly: I've heard both the James Blake album and a bit of the Floex album, dig them both, but should spend more time with Floex.
But I haven't listened to Cristobal etc, will check it. Same goes for the band Let rec'd, will check it!

01.27.15 | Nice list, we have some similar taste. I have a few recs...
Since you like Lights, check out London Grammar (only one LP right now).
Since you like Rustie, listen to Hudson Mohawke's Butter.
Since you like Burial, listen to Volor Flex's Tramp. Dude is the hardest core of Burial worshippers, but he's pretty good at it. Nowcow's Ruin Tapes is good as well (at least find Moonlight Flit, one of my favorite tracks ever).
I'll second the recommendation of Stumbleine. Find the one with Heart Shaped Locket (It got released under two different LP names).
Last, not completely related to anything you listed, but Swarms is great. Old Raves End is their LP and it's fantastic (Stumbleine is a member, btw) but also look for their track Skynet. | Ryus
