Hardcore In 2014: LPs

Hardcore LPs are almost never as good as EPs, but here are my favorites rfrom this year.
1The Boston Strangler
Fire

I mean the first LP was DAMN good but I was not even expecting this thing to blow
my mind like it did. DYS/SSD-style Boston hardcore done perfectly. Go get this now
dude.
2Ivy (NY)
Ivy

The new band from members of Brown Sugar jump straight from a demo to an LP and
you can't blame them.
3Hank Wood and The Hammerheads
Stay Home

The originators of 21st century organ punk put out an equally good 2nd LP.
4White Wards
Cigarette Burns

Members of multiple Washington bands put out a blistering collection of hardcore punk.
5Tercer Mundo
Ser Nosotros Mismos

Best spanish-language album of the year.
6Absolut (TO)
Punk Survival

2014's best offering of d-beat. From Canada!
7 Punch
They Don't Have To Believe

I always bagged on this band for all of their songs sounding the same, but they've
really grown and this is a great farewell album.

Wild Stabs In The Dark

Violent Reaction did it last year, The Flex did it this year. UKHC LP of the year.

The Whole Fucking World Is Shit

America's best attempt at Crass style anarcho-punk in ages.

Time Has Gone

Spine brings the mosh wherever they're at. Like I've said before, if you like hardcore
more than punk, check this out.

Negative Ecstasy

I don't even know anything about this band. They're either from Washington or UK I
think but I saw this on Iron Lung's bandcamp and boy is it good.

Innersense

Weird as fuck, but still tough as fuck hardcore from Australia. They have some kind of
technology/future theme going on. I don't know.

Flower punk. (Kinda sound like Fucked Up and Fugazi).

Texas band offers their final LP full of twisting, winding punk riffs.

Definitely not as good as the demo and EP, but some solid songs from this Chicago
band of glue sniffers.
