Vinyl Destination
so I started a vinyl collection a few months back. it's pretty small so far, but I'm being picky and only getting favorite albums or exclusive stuff. items 1-4 are my collection so far, 5-14 are some records I want to get eventually in no particular order, and 15 is a completely unrelated album recommendation because I don't want to make a separate list for it. |
1 | | Katatonia Kocytean
2014 Record Store Day exclusive, limited to 2000 copies. translucent orange. |
2 | | The Cure Disintegration
favorite album of all time. 2010 remaster, 180 gram double LP. standard black. |
3 | | Beastmilk Use Your Deluge
Black Friday exclusive. clear. |
4 | | Beastmilk Climax
translucent candy apple red. |
5 | | The Cure Pornography
wishlist. |
6 | | The Cure The Head on the Door
wishlist. |
7 | | Dead Kennedys Plastic Surgery Disasters

9 | | The Sisters of Mercy First and Last and Always

10 | | Fugazi Repeater

11 | | Michael Jackson Thriller
wishlist. pretty sure there's an unwritten rule somewhere that you have to own this. |
12 | | Depeche Mode Black Celebration
wishlist. |
13 | | Sepultura Beneath the Remains
wishlist. favorite thrash album. this is apparently really hard to find on vinyl. fingers crossed for a reissue. |
14 | | Love and Rockets Love and Rockets
wishlist. this also seems fairly difficult to find. |
15 | | Stiu Nu Stiu Ultra Silvam
I've been wanting to get the word out about this for a while. I'll just copypaste my shitty rating summary:
"Mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna), Ultra Silvam is the debut album by this Swedish supergroup-of-sorts, featuring members of post-rock band Jeniferever, post-punk revivalists The Search, and goth-folk project Promise and the Monster. In a way, the album feels like a combination of all of the members' various backgrounds, mixing dark alternative and post-punk with a couple surprising detours into sludgy post-metal territory as well. While this can make for somewhat of an inconsistent listen, it's still an excellent album and one of my favorites of 2014."
