My favourite albums - top 7 in random order
1Converge
Jane Doe

There was a period of time when I felt that this style of music wasn't in my interests anymore. Then I listened to Jane Doe. I honestly did not think it was possible to channel emotions towards music in this way. It was a real revelation that renewed my love for extreme music. I will not make you bored with all personal past stories that relate to listening to this record, as the story can be summed up by the beautiful lyrics yelled by J. Bannon. An absolute must-know
2Pink Floyd
The Dark Side of the Moon

All that you want from a record. It is not a case that TDSOTM is regarded at one the most valuables masterpieces of rock music. I suppose everyone knows this psychedelic sad collection of stories. I really think it is astounding to see how much talent a band can have.
3La Quiete
La Fine Non E La Fine

This and Tempeun are to me a classic of screamo and chaotic music. This album pulled me towards genres of music that made me discover what is real emotional music. Not that escape the fate shit I used to listen back then ( still very catchy tho, no regrets).
4Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven

Is it rock? Is it classical music? Is it a painting? Lift your skinny fists is all of these. It's a story made music, and delivers a message. This album is a grower, and quite hard to access if you have no experience with post-rock. However, if you give it a chance it will bring your mind further away in beautiful realms.
5Fall of Efrafa
Owsla

Among what I discovered last year, this is surely the album I listened to the most. It's so great. Based on the novel "Watership Down" this album is the first piece of an album trilogy that narrates the story of the bunny colony of Efrafa. This album successfully mix crust punk with post metal, post rock and thousand other influences. I think this album is incredibly underrated by the music community, as I think it is a classic of extreme music, being at the same time quite accessible for the non experts of the genre. Bunny metal, they say.
6slint
Spiderland

This album has recently entered in my top 7. The more I listen to it, the more I appreciate it. This record could be defined introverted, if we could use this adjective towards a musical piece. The obsession behind the repeated guitar riffs is tangible. Must know of post-rock & post hardcore. Furthermore, it made me dig more in the 90s music. As a result, my musical taste matured much more.
7A Black Rose Burial
An Awakening of Revenants EP

I honestly have no idea why this record is here, since I have noticed long time ago that the band was not fully mature when composing the former. However, A baleful Aura in the graveyard of broken gears (1st track) is my most played song ever on Itunes. So yeah, it's such a pity that these lads disbanged after only 1 Ep. They could have been really big, I believe it. For who does not know the record, it's a mix of grindcore-metalcore-strange atmospheres mixed with sample of B-movies horror from the past. For sure they were experimental.
