| My doom metal band has a single out
Album coming on Halloween, with some of a second record already in the can. I play bass and do harsh vocals. List is biggest influences. Check the song here: http://fleshofthestars.bandcamp.com/track/8-mile-swimming-pool-burial | 1 | | Black Sabbath Master of Reality
Of course | 2 | | Sleep Dopesmoker
It's being mastered by the guy who did this. He's extremely affordable, FYI. | 3 | | Electric Wizard Dopethrone
This song was written after me and Matt saw EW. | 4 | | Pallbearer Foundations of Burden
Our main songwriters would probably be derided as hipsters by much of the metal community, and accordingly Pallbearer were a big part of turning them onto the genre. I'm the only one whose background includes a lot of metal listening. | 5 | | Saint Vitus Born Too Late
Mike has gotten really into this and I think it comes off on a few songs on the record. | 6 | | Eyehategod Take as Needed for Pain

10.02.15 | sadly, i agree | HenchmanOfSanta
10.02.15 | Personally I feel we're aping Wizard more here, but fair enough. This is probably the most Sabbathian tune on the record as well (the end of the chorus is done in so many BS songs). The rest of the album will have songs that are a bit more trad doom. Slower pace, some eerie synths, some acoustic parts. It's a bit of a pastiche. |
